came early to work and headed off to Chonburi Oil Palm Plantation at around 8.45am with pee rainee and pee glau. an hour trip to the east of thailand. it was friggin' hot and humid there. in search of 20 inflourescence of oil palm. walked about a total of 5km only to find 16 inflourescence. most of em' turned into a bunch. the owner said that we're 2 months late.
the environment there reminds me of myself when i was a kid. my grandmother often brought me to my uncle's coconut plantation site if we're in melaka to help out in maintaining the area. the smell, the view, the heat, the humid.
then off to the bunch collecting site. there were millions of bunch from all over thailand collected in one area, chonburi plantation. carried over 12 bunches into the pick-up. then off we go for lunch.
i'm trying to skip all the skimpy little details cause i am just too exhausted.
had vegetarian food for lunch. reached back at yothee building around 3.30pm. slept on the way to chonburi and back. carried on the work of harvesting the bud of the inflourescence. then sterilising em'.
using a chemical, calcium hypochlorite. that gives out a corrosive chlorine odour, that makes you sick. made me really sick. ended work at 8.15pm. OT, meaningless OT. reached back at the dorm around 8.30pm. showered, ate, prayed and the stomach's still a bitch.
fatigue is accumulating in my skeletal muscles. i need to rest badly. pictures to enjoy.
pee glau, anxiously waiting for the next inflourescence to be chopped down.
