came to work at 8.01am (from the clock at the card-reader as i entered) and was utterly confused when my supervisor said that she wants me to come on time. i was given a warning, which i felt was harsh, for being late. it was all due to the stupid traffic system employed in thailand. literally stupid. in a four-way junction, the traffic light turns green one junction at a time. i was stuck there for nearly 15 minutes.

and the massive numerical dominance of cars made it even worst. perhaps, the new PM can win the hearts of local thai who takes public transport everyday by employing a 5000 baht (S$200) ERP across the roads. well, it's just a suggestion though.

unlike in singapore, the ministers always take a preventive measure rather than a punitive measure. which can be overrated at times. a good example would be National Service. the people in my lab were surprised by the need of 2 years of national service. yet again, preventive measures. maybe they are playing too safe.

dealt with media preparation and seed cutting again! while waiting for the autoclave. ran 3 rounds of sterilisation. prepared 180 8oz bottles.

went lunch with my colleagues, they are nice people who try to make me feel at home. initially i turned down their offer but decided to go on cause i find it rather rude.

yep thats my lunch. the same chicken rice i had yesterday. and that green gravy thingy, was the super sweet and spicy sauce that i love. the sister who served me, intentionally gave me more rice, i don't know why, but i am grateful. service with a smile.

even kim(a 22 year-old thai in my lab who speaks english pretty well) asked me how much it costs. i told him 30 baht as per normal. and he said it looks more than normal.

the five of us then headed to thai leather fair. held nearby, like a so-called fair in singapore expo.


they sell pretty nice stuffs. notice the green leather bag? extreme left of the top rack. its BEAU-tiful. but its 3500baht. too expensive for my liking. leather made from cows.

went back to the dorm at around 530pm. walked home. 30 minutes walk through the carbon monoxide infested street.

didn't know what to do with the remaining bread. i made french toast, and have em with mixed berry spread. its sweet and simple.
